L1 Salon - Introduction to pin curling

Expectations- Classroom Rules
  • No entering the classroom without a tutor 
  • Remove all jewellery and coats before entering the classroom. 
  • No food or drinks  when entering the classroom- Only water in a clear bottle
  • Complete 'Do Now' task
  •  Participate fully in your session
  • No Hands up- Questions- No opt out 
  • NO use of mobile phones- unless instructed to by tutor
  • Toilet breaks not permitted in the first 30 minutes or the last 15 minutes of your session 
  • Learning Review booklets/ Knowledge organisers 
  • Remember to put Chromebooks at the end of session and remember to log out and put back on charge.

- Recall brick set placement techniques
- Introduce two pin curl techniques 
 - Barrel and Clock spring and how to incorporate into a set
- Be able to state the difference between the different pin curling techniques
- Revisit dressing and finishing the look

- Always complete full consultation
- Always plan your set .
- Each sections should be the size of the roller.
- Roller needs to placed on base, with even tension
- Beware of pin placement when securing roller
- On Base – give movement and creates volume

- Each section needs to be smooth with even tension
- Beware of securing with metal double prong clips
- Be aware of the different effects that can be achieved
